The best method to obtain measurements is by using a tape measure and a piece of string. Use the string to take the actual measurement on the horse, then lay the length of string next to the tape measure for the actual measurement.

        _____A. The circumference of the nose where you would like the nose band to rest. Be sure not to have the string to snug, leaving some room.

        _____B. The distance from where the lead rope or reins attach to the knot under the throat latch. This measurement determines how close the knot will rest under the jaw.
